  • Three Hills for Life...

So, our apartment is in boxes. We planned on moving all of our "big stuff" down to MT this past weekend and then spending our last week back in Three Hills cleaning up the last of our "little stuff" and saying goodbye at our Canada Day BBQ.... Until Lyam came home after work the day we were supposed to pack everything up and said that Owen (his boss) decided to throw a wrench in our plans. A wrench being more money and sweet opportunity, of course. So we went to MT last weekend anyway. No trailer, no stuff and thought things over.  Why not stay?  Great job, great friends, great little town closish to the mountains.

So this may come as  shock to some, but probably more of an "I knew it!" to most... Lyam and I will be spending a few more months in the Hills! Yep, Three Hills.

We promised our aparment to the Nash's when we left, so we will probably be moving right across the hall, which will be really funny...

So, it is true. Three Hills has sucked us in, We may never leave.  But for now, I think its a good decision.

P.S. Elliott and others who are in MT, we're still coming down for a few weeks in July so we'll be in touch about those BBQ's and days on the lake...

  • Dedicated to that Solitary Individual...
  • Grapefuits are the best fruit...

Good and good for you, grapefruits are the fruit of reflection- well, if the way you eat a grapefruit is in any way similar to the way I eat a grapefruit...

First, I remove the peel, scrape away as much of that bitter white stuff as possible and of course tear away the skin before enjoying each succulent and sticky bite.  A grapefruit is a beautiful thing- in fact it is such a joyous occassion to partake in one that to consider eating it while, say, watching TV would be to defile the grapefruit and everything it stands for...

I feel as though a sweet yet tangy grapefruit should be enjoyed over a good converstaion with friends or soaking in the first rays of springtime sun with your journal writing stories about life, love &... fruit.... But soon I realize that these wishes could never come to pass- No, my friends could never have a deep and meaningful conversation with me as I mercilessly mangled that delicate grapefruit and continue to slurp the marred pink flesh.  And No, the delectably sticky juices would drip down into the pricesless pages of my journal and my sticky fingers would cling unwillingly to the paper...

No, the grapefruit must only be enjoyed in solitude, just me and my thoughts reflecting on life, the important things I've neglected because of the busy-ness.  But the grapefruit!  Ah the grapefruit, is the perfect opportunity!  While doing the ever important task of feeding my body with nurtients essential for life, I now have the chance to feed my soul with one of the most vital tools I have for healthy living... And that is Self- Reflection.

Just me, God, and a delicious pink grapefruit.

About Me

  • I just got married, his name is Lyam, he is really cool you should get to know him. I go to BIble school, where I learn about God and the Bible, which is really great but it can also hurt sometimes. Rivers and mountains are my favorite. Traveling the world is what I want to do. To glorify God is why I am here. And if you didn't know I like to have fun more than the average person...
